MY EXPERIENCE AS A FOREIGN WORKER

I had seven months working experience in Singapore after I gratuated from Form Six. 

After STPM, two of my friends and I went to Singapore to explore our new life. As a Malaysian, it was not easy for us to find a good job with high paid over there. Luckily, with god bless, three of us were employed by a big company, named "NTUC Fairprice Co-Operative". We worked as a cashier, at Hypermarket Ang Mo Kio branch. 

It was not easy to be a cashier. In people's mind, cashier's duty is only scan, pack and pay. In the real, we need to know a lot of thing. For example, everyday before we open a counter, we need to do a lot of preparation. We need to know about the promotions that going on, memorize the price of the food, clean the counter, count the float money of the day and etc. As a cashier, we had our own "GST", which is Great, Smile and Thank. We need to respect every customer that we met, listened to their problems and solve it. 

In that seven months, I learned a lot of things. I met a lot of friends over there. They always take good care of us. The memories I had in Singapore is really precious. I hope I can have a chance to meet them again.

FIREBEAT

"Firebeat", which is my last drum performance in this semester. 

8/5/2015, it was a wonderful Friday night. There are 22 students involved in this performance is 22 people. We spent about 8 days for the practice. In that few days, we practiced from morning to evening. Every time after the practice, I felt really tired because there were a lot of movement but not standing there and play the rhythms only. 

Practice makes perfect! 

After the 9 minutes performance, we got a lot of applause and cheers from the audience. The feeling was priceless. I felt so excited and touch standing in front of them. Thank you all my friends who came to support me. It was really a memorable night!

CAN TO SONG

"Can to song", a music game between friends which is fun and interesting. We learned this game through Youtube. What you need for this game is only a empty can and a song that you like. It's not hard to play since we only spent 15 minutes learning that.

MY PIANO EXPERIENCE

When I was playing “Wedding Dress”.

I learned piano since I was standard one. I still remember my piano teacher first taught me, playing piano should always curve my hand like holding a tennis ball. Yes, I used to play piano with only fingers moved, it was like dead people playing piano with no adequate emotions. After some time, I followed and changed my style of playing like what teacher said to me.

After that i learned how to recognise notes, duration of beats, major/minor, chords, triads and so on. I was very quick in memorising and understand theory. I almost remembered all the things that was written in the book within a week except those Italian terms which took me long time to digest it. Only a week memorised until grade 5, i thought it was unbelievable for a standard one student. 

My parents had bought me a new piano. Therefore, I can practice whenever I want in my home. My teacher allowed me to jump grade up from grade 1 to grade 3. She said i was quick enough to catch up in the few months.

Unluckily, I stopped learning piano when I was in Form One. That time, I felt that playing piano was wasting my time. I felt so lazy to practice for the song. I left my piano there and never touch it for few months. At the end, my parents decided to sell the piano to others.

Nowadays, when I see people can play well in piano, I feel so admire. I have the chance before, but I never appreciate it. I feel so regret now. 

If I continue practice my piano that time, I think I will be a good pianist now! 

IPOH TRIP

Ipoh, it is my hometown. 

It is a beautiful town that I love so much! 

1/5/2015 to 4/5/2015 are our university public holidays. We planned to have a vacation since there are four days holiday. After discussion, they decided to visit my hometown, Ipoh. 

I am the only one came from Ipoh. Of course, I became their tourist in that few days.  

This was really a memorable trip for us. We visited a lot places and eat a lot of delicious food. During the trip, we non-stop chatting and taking photos. At that time, we can temporary forget about the assignments, exams, practices and others stress. 

But, time flies. After three days, we had to come back to university to continue our study. I miss the moment that we stay together all the day, having pillow talk at the midnight, play and eat together.

MID SEM BREAK

After the 7 weeks of classes, mid sem holiday finally comes. I have waited this day for so long. 

During this sembreak, I did not go back to my hometown. I had joined a 4 days drumming workshop which organized by UUM 24-Festive Drums Team, named "Heart To Heart". It happened from 10/4/2015 to 13/4/2015, 8am-8pm. The purpose of this camp is to train the members to be involved in creating a new rhythm and learn the theory and history of drum. 

Warming up is very important because it can prevent us from getting injured.

I am one of the Group B member.

We are busy thinking about the new rhythm.

I like this video sharing session because I learned a lot of things from it. 

Every night, we played games together to release our stress. 

At the last day, I received a certificate from my leader.
